Kencove's New Floating Brace Design

A single-driven post brace design termed “Floating Brace” has recently been redesigned by Kencove as the Dynamic Diagonal Brace (HDD).  Like any floating brace assembly, it is both simple and effective, with nearly as much load strength as more complex H-braces. A floating brace is constructed by four main components:  an anchor post, diagonal, tension member, and floating block (foot).  In the past there have been two versions of the floating brace; one with a steel rod as a tension member and the other with two wraps of high-tensile fence wire.  Both designs use a wood post for the anchor and diagonal.

The Dynamic Diagonal Brace can be assembled with either PasturePro Line Boss or wood post as the anchor, 1.25” fiber rod diagonal, 1/8” stainless steel cable tension member, and PasturePro 12” floating block.  The updated components of the Dynamic Diagonal Brace make installation a breeze. The anchor post is the only permanently fixed component, everything else is simply set into place allowing flexibility for changing fence conditions.  The lower tension member (stainless steel cable) should not be over tightened; the cable should be lightly tensioned through the Gripple using a tension/torque tool. The brace will be “set” when the fence wires have tension. The Dynamic Diagonal Brace works by directing the force that is put on the anchor post into the ground via the floating foot and back through the cable to the buried end of the anchor post.  It is important that the lower end of the diagonal be able to move freely by means of the floating foot to reduce the tendency for the anchor post to jack out of the ground as conditions change. Dynamic in design, floating assemblies can be used on any terrain as corner and end braces of multi-strand high-tensile fence. Once the anchor post is driven or hand set, the Dynamic Diagonal brace assembly only takes a few short minutes.  Considering ease of installation and time savings this is a very affordable assembly.
